A Study on Accidents in Primary School Student

Abstract
|
|
|
Drawing an accidents diary against all students, 1798 persons of a primary school in Chunchon City for a year in 1971 and analyzing the accidents cecured in primary school, I obtained the following results.
1) While making their school lives there was not even a person who had been. involved in accident death and no one of the happened accidents has been. deformity that would have to make his or her shade life all through out of his. or her life. There were a few heavy accidents which had left scars.
2) Considering sexual part, male involved in the accidents are 188 persons 74% and female are 71 persons, 26% and then it showed us that males were far larger number than females.
3) Considering age, it showed us that the age of 12 years, the high classes has. been involved in the biggest number of the accidents and the age of 6 years,. the lower classes in less number of it than the high classes and then 3rd to 4th grades, the middle classes were safe comparatively.
4) In type of the accidents, epistaxis and lacerated wound the most numbers,, and contused wound, cutting, burns, fainting and stab increasingly dimished.. The stab was shown in female only, and there were a few numbers of them.
5) Considering factor of the accidents, the material accident was 42.5% and the immaterial accident 57.5%. The material accidents by the implements have been happened by mainly pencil cutter and cutting by the knives. It was shown. that the immaterial accidents had happened by unhealthy which concentration. of energy, careless and nourishment were deficiency.
6) In the accidents by the implements, male were more than females and the: proportion of male and female was 4 : 1.
7) In the actual characteristic at the accidents time, the accidents naturally happened while playing and study hour in the classrooms was 16.2% and I were attached importance to it. Due ´to the family economic level of the students on object of this study comparatively is low, I pointed out badness of nourishment and short of caution of the students and importance of nourishment and safe .guidance for short of caution of the students must be stressed all the more.
8) Considering times of the accidents, one person has been involved in 2. 1 times of the accidents averagely and there were five persons who have been involved in even five times of the accidents. Comparatively the wounded students have the wounded nature and they come to be wounded often.
9) Depending upon investigation of the accident places, they occured in playground is 52. 1% and 38.2% in the classrooms. The accidents on the way to attend school is 9.3% and it opposite phenomenon against Kim, Myong Ho´s. announcement, and the accidents in playground was more than in the classrooms.
10) According to the monthly investigation, the largest number of the accidents were happened in September and the least number of it in October. Observing the season´s accidents, the biggest part of it was happened in Summer and the least number of it in Autumn.
11) On the investigation of the accident time, I divided it into in the morning in the noon and in the afternoon of the accidents were greatly happened from 8 O´clock to 12 O´clock while very busy schooling was going on.
